Matthew Wolff, Designer For Nike’s 2018 Nigerian World Cup Kit Now Behind the Oakland Roots SC newest jerseys

2018was a career-defining year for Matthew Wolff. Nigeria couldn’t make it out of the group stage of the World Cup, but his design for the country’s jersey kit broke records with Nike. Now, two years later, he is making another impact in the soccer world.

Wolff is behind the Oakland Roots SC newest jerseys that showcase what the city embodies. In the white and black iterations, “Oaklandish” spreads across the chest in block lettering with a rainbow colourway. Both jerseys use the same colourway with a road map of the city within the numbers on the back.

The white jersey is the freshest of the two, but the black jersey provides a sleek look that fits into any combination of casual and luxury. Its white side panels compliment the white triangular shape that pops from the collar.

Both shirts have the Oakland Roots’ logo embroidered on to the left side of the chest. With the roots of a tree exposed, the spacing is filled with a multicolour scheme that calls into play Oakland’s inclusivity nature.

To snag a jersey or anything else from Wolff’s Oakland line, you can shop the team’s site.
