It’s been 80 years since Bombonera Stadium first opened its doors to the public for a friendly match that lasted only 70 minutes. The legendary stadium is being commemorated by adidas through Boca Junior jerseys and shirts, the first team to occupy the stadium.
This time around, the Boca Junior third shirt will stray away from the home and away jerseys that were released earlier this year. Yellow served as a complementary color to the white and navy blue shirts, but in this release, it dominates.
The neck collar, its three stripes on the shoulders and the bottom of the sleeves are colored in navy blue, while the shirt’s side panels are decorated in both navy blue and yellow. La Bombonera’s 80th-anniversary logo, a translucent sketch of the stadium, sits on the center of the chest.
The stadium is located in La Boca, a district in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and has been used as the backdrop for the Argentina national team during FIFA World Cup qualification matches.
The third shirt is available now through adidas.com/ar.
