The Brooklyn Nets are going for some fresh but familiar threads for the upcoming season. Kevin Durant and the Nets are throwing it back to the team’s New Jersey days to be added to their uniform rotation.
The faded blue partnered with red is considerably different from Nets usual black ensemble, but being the 30th anniversary since these jerseys first made their debuts, it’s only fitting that they make a comeback.
Kyrie Irving dons the New Jersey uniform in one of the Nets promotional announcements, that was led by a hype video that detailed the team’s journey from Jersey to Brooklyn.
Its accompanying shorts hold the same pattern of a light blue diagonal stroke against a white background. The lettering and numbers are in red to complement the red outline on the neck collar, shoulders and down the sides of the jersey and shorts.
The Nets are the first NBA team to announce any uniform additions to the upcoming season, seeing as the year-long 2020-21 season ended on Sunday with the Lakers being named NBA champions after beating the Heat.
