The Tribute To Hank Aaron: Nike Air Griffey Max Metal
The Nike Air Griffey Max Metal features details of the four teams Hank Hammer Aaron played for throughout his career: the Indianapolis Clowns, the Milwaukee Braves, the Atlanta Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Inside the ankle strap, Aaron’s career achievements appear massively, such as 25 MLB All-Star game selections and his record of 755 home runs.
In the part of the upper strap, his mythical number 44 is shown; likewise, one of the templates features a bottle cap, in reference to Hank’s fondness for practicing his swing with whatever object he found.
Unfortunately, these cleats were designed exclusively for Nike athletes participating in this year’s MLB All-Star Game, so they will not be available for sale to the general public.
In addition to the launch of these shoes, Nike will allocate $104,000 to the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation’s “4 by 4” program, which provides at least $4,000 annually to students attending historically African-American colleges and universities (HBCU).
