Nike Air Ship Worn By Michael Jordan Become the Second Most Expensive Sneakers in History

Almost there. A pair of Nike Air Ship worn by Michael Jordan were sold at an auction for $ 1.4 million USD, becoming only the second most expensive sneakers in history.

The world was high on expectation. Since the news came that a pair of sneakers that Michael Jordan wore in 1984 were coming to an auction, plenty of people were expecting them to become the most expensive sneakers ever.

Sotheby hosted the Icons of Excellence & Haute Luxury auction in Las Vegas, Nevada. The venue was the ARIA Resort & Casino and there were the Nike Air Ship Worn By Michael Jordan took to the court on November 1st, 1984 in a game against the Denver Nuggets.

When the hammer hit, the bidding price was $ 1.472 million USD, gone to the hands of Nick Fiorella, a trading card collector.

Unfortunately for the record of the most expensive shoes, that wasn’t enough to catch the $ 1.8 million USD collected by a pair of Nike Air Yeezy 1 Prototypes worn by Kanye West at the 2008 Grammy Awards.
