The Brazilian club that achieved glory in 2012 commemorates the date in a big way, as it seems with the new Nike Corinthians 22/23 away shirt.
Just as the home kit was presented just a few days ago, the People’s Team is now launching its visiting kit, and it did so by achieving a visiting victory against RB Bragantino who, curiously, also released their home kit, created by New Balance.
Contrasting with the classically white home kit, the Nike Corinthians 22/23 away shirt comes in black, paying tribute to the tenth anniversary of what has been known as the “Golden Year”, when the Paulista club won the Copa Libertadores, as well as the Club World Championship.
The design removes the traditional vertical white stripes to make way for the contour image of the map of the state of Sao Paulo in black and gray tones. The round neckline and cuffs feature dark and gold colors, symbolizing the achievements of 2012.
The inscription “The Favela is here” is displayed on the inside of the collar, a phrase immortalized in the eyes of fans when it appeared on the scarf raised by coach Tite when they won the Club World Cup in Yokohama.
Inside the players’ numbers, the phrase “Against everything and against everyone” is inscribed – the theme of the 2012 Libertadores conquest – with the same typography used during the golden year, which adds the same golden border on the sleeves and the neck.
The new Nike Corinthians 22/23 away shirt is now available for purchase on nike.com; the gaming version costs R$599.99 ($116 USD), while the fan version costs R$249.99 ($48 USD).
